|With Jesus as Lord, we share His Love|
My name is Matthew Lynch. I am the Drummer for the HNC Praise Team. I have been playing drums since I was 4 and have been playing for the Praise Team for about 10 years. I was born on March 26, 1982 in Crawfordsville Indiana. My parents are Alan and Sharon Lynch of Covington. My childhood was a little different then most since I spent most of my first couple of years traveling in a RV/Bus and in and out of churches and nursery due to my dad playing drums in a band. For most of my life he has played in bands such as Homeward Bound, and Renewal. I owe a lot of where I am today in my walk with the Lord my parents because I was in church a lot because of them. Even though it is tough for me to say this I learned everything I know about playing the drums from him even though now he learns from me. Just kidding.
I graduated from Covington High School in 2000 and attended Huntington University for 1 year. I have held many jobs since then working for AutoZone, Raybestos, CCL Custom Manufacturing, and ThyseenKrupp Gerlach. During that time I married Kristin Davis on October 4th, 2003. I also had my daughter Isabella on July 5th, of 2005. I am currently back in school due to a layoff from ThyseenKrupp Gerlach where I will graduate in December 2008 with an Associates Degree in Marketing.
Along with playing the drums I also enjoy spending time with my family, watching the colts play, riding my motorcycle and playing sports. I am currently playing for a vintage baseball team called the Vermillion Voles. We play the game of baseball as it was originally played back in 1858. We wear old uniforms and play without gloves and everyone on the team has nicknames mine being "Big Timber".
A lot has changed over the past 10 years I have been playing the drums for the Praise Team. I have had two different sets of drums. I have been put in the left corner, the center and the right corner of the stage who knows where I will be next. We have added members to the team and had some leave and our music has changed as well. Despite all the changes that have taken place and will continue to happen and all the places they make me go on the stage (or off) one thing has not changed and that is how much I love to play the drums for the Lord and how much I love to be a part of this church and play drums and worship the Lord.
