A few years ago I was born in Kentucky

A few years ago I was born in Kentucky, lived in Chicago, and moved back to live in Kentucky until I was married. I was saved and sanctified at age 14 and know that it is because of a wonderful Christian heritage and the prayers of my family that I am where I am today.

I attended and graduated from Mount Carmel High School in Vancleve, Kentucky. I went on to graduate from Kentucky Mountain Bible College, located a mile from the high school, with an associate's degree in Christian Education. After graduating I married Greg McDonald with whom I've been married for 23 years. After KMBC we moved to Bourbonnais, Illinois where we attended and graduated from Olivet Nazarene University. I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and worked in a business office at Olivet for 2 years until God called us to pastor at Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene where we have been since 1989.

Besides being a mother to two teenagers, I am the secretary at the church and also am the Client Coordinator at a Women's Resource Center. I play the piano for the church praise team and am on the Ladies' Ministry committee. I enjoy reading, cooking, horseback riding, and time with my family.

My mother gave me a Bible when I was in high school. In the front cover she wrote the following verses that have been the stability and strength that I have needed time after time:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Proverbs 3:5,6

The unconditional love of Jesus is why I choose to serve Him. I will never understand why He loves me but He does, and to the best of my ability I will serve Him and follow the path He has laid out for me.
